Bada Tajbagh set for Urs of Baba Tajuddin
Abha Goradia | tnn | Oct 12, 2017, 03:44 ISTNagpur: The annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Aulia Rehmat-ul-Alaih is only two days away. Hazrat Baba Tajuddin Trust has finished preparations for the event. This year, the devotees coming from across the country will get to see the renovated dargah.
Addressing a press conference, administrator of the Trust Gunwant Kubde said that the programme will begin at 11am on Saturday. Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, mayor Nanda Jichkar and south Nagpur MLA Sudhakar Kohale will be the chief guests at the function. The celebrations will continue till October 21.
Before the event, flag hoisting will be done at 9am under the guidance of Hazrat Saiyyad Yusuf Iqbal Taji, and at the hands of Raje Raghuji Bhosale.
'26 Muharram' or the 26th day after the death of Baba Tajuddin falls on October 18. A royal sandal, or procession, will be taken out on this day which will leave Tajbagh situated on Umred Road at 10am and pass through Sakkardara, New Shukrawari Cement Road, Shivaji statue, Agrasen Chowk, Ganjakhet Chowk, Shaheed Chowk, Badkas Chowk and return to Tajbagh by 6pm. Before this, a discourse and a qawwali programme will be held at the Trust office.
The trust has also arranged for accommodation of visitors in three halls constructed above the shopping complex with a capacity of nearly 7,000 people, and they will be charged an entry fee of only Rs10, said Kubde. The visitors will also be able to avail bathing, sanitation and car parking facilities. The activities in the hall will be monitored by CCTVs. Visitors can deposit their valuables at a cloak room and eat meals at the langar.
A mela will also be hosted for the visitors from October 21 to November 23. Drinking water facilities have been made on all the three sides of the masjid. Moreover, about 100 men and women belonging to the Trust will take care of security arrangements.
