KA’s ‘A’ group tiatr competition opens today

The 43rd Tiatr 'A' Group Competition of Kala Academy, organized by Kala Academy (KA), commences on October 12 at KA's Dinanath Mangeshkar Kala Mandir auditorium, Panaji.

In all, 14 top tiatr troupes will vie for top honours at the competition, which opens with Calangute Association's 'Devachi Yeuzonn', scripted and directed by Matias Mascarenhas.

The contest will end on November 8 with Joaquim Dias' 'Tallnnim', presented by St Domnic Dramatic Troupe, Merces. The line-up of playwrights includes Tomazinho Cardozo, Alfredo Fernandes, Agnelo L Fernandes, Doel Dias, Alexin Fernandes, Augie D'Mello, J L Diogo Fernandes, Michael Gracias, Joaquim Dias, Pedro Vaz, Carlos Fernandes and Aamar P Sawanth.

Booking of tickets, priced at Rs 50, can be done three days in advance, from 9.45am to 1pm and frin 2.30pm to 6pm. The regular booking time will be from 10am to 1pm and from 2.30pm to 7.15pm. All performances will commence at 7pm.
