Kashmir: 2 cops arrested from Shopian for providing weapons to Hizbul terrorists

Three people, including two policemen, have been arrested from south Kashmir's Shopian district for providing ammunition to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists.

Three people, including two policemen, have been arrested from south Kashmir's Shopian district for providing ammunition to Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists.

The third person is an over-ground worker (OGW), identified as Adil Ahmad Negroo. Police said that Negroo was arrested near the Circuit House in Shopian under suspicious circumstances and that they recovered 20 live rounds of AK-47 from his possession on October 9.

A police official said, "He is a strong OGW of active militant Waseem Wagay @Saifullah and Ishfaq Thoker @Abrar of the Hizbul Mujahaideen outfit."

"On being interrogated, the OGW revealed that he and his friend called Mudasir Ahmad Mir of Okay village in Kulgam had received 40 rounds of AK-47 from one constable Shabir Ahmad Malik of Amshipora in Shopian, who was presently posted in Ganderbal district. Malik had received the same from another constable Nazir Ahmad Najar of Kulgam, who was currently posted in Kot DPL Shopian", the police official added.  

Both constables Shabir Ahmad Malik and Nazir Ahmad Najar have been arrested and FIRs lodged against them. Further investigation into the case is going on.
