For years, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh has been occupying the prime room at the front entrance of Congress HQ, right opposite to Sonia Gandhi’s office. As Singh is on 'political leave’ and a six-month Narmada Parikrama padayatra, the nameplate of fellow general secretary Ashok Gehlot has come up next to Singh’s as his interim roommate. Incidentally, Gehlot is known to share a rapport with Singh.

Swearing at Auditorium
The recent swearing-in ceremony of Assam governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi was not held in the four walls of Raj Bhavan, but at the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra Auditorium in Guwahati. Pollution & Football
Pollution control board in Assam took back its earlier order where it asked industries in and around the stadiums hoisting FIFA Under-17 World Cup to close down before the match. Pollution board reasoned that it wanted to ensure pollution-free environment for players. However, they withdrew the order later. Guwahati is hoisting nine matches.

CJI Depends on his Skills
After assuming office, CJI Misra changed rules to disallow senior advocates from mentioning urgent matters on an out-of-turn basis in the morning. CJI insisted only those qualified as 'advocates on record’ could mention matters. He did not allow junior lawyers to mention either. As a result, CJI has the thankless task of depending on his face recognition skills to identify AORs. If he fails, they get their turn to mention.
