Ahead of Diwali, electricity committee asks Municipal Corporation officials to ensure streetlights are working

The officials have been asked to prepare an inventory of street lights including poles, lamps and other fittings and they have also been told to make a list of faulty electricity points, damaged wires and fused lamps.

The electricity committee has asked the officials of the Municipal Corporation to ensure that all the streetlights are in working condition ahead of Diwali. The direction follows after a meeting of the electricity committee was held under the chairmanship of councillor Vinod Aggarwal. The meeting was attended by committee members Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Raj Bala Malik , Farmila, Sat Prakash Aggrawal, Bharat Kumar, Ravi Kant Sharma and other councillors.

The officials have been asked to prepare an inventory of street lights including poles, lamps and other fittings and they have also been told to make a list of faulty electricity points, damaged wires and fused lamps.

In the meeting, committee members raised the issue of faulty and dim street lights in residential areas, green belts, markets ,V-3, V-4 and V-5 roads.
They asked for proper patrolling teams to be constituted under supervision of sub-divisional engineers comprising junior engineers and electricians to detect fault in street lights, area wise.
