Norwegian electronic dance music (EDM) artiste KYGO is all set to embark on a maiden three-city India tour with Sunburn Arena, organisers announced on 11 October. Kygo will travel to Hyderabad (24 November), Delhi (25 November) and Mumbai (November 26).
Adding to the excitement, another widely acclaimed music artist in the form of the American rapper-singer-songwriter Wiz Khalifa, will be making his India debut later this year in Goa. The 'See You Again' hitmaker will be taking centrestage at the multi-genre music festival, Time Out 72, that marks its debut at Vagator, Goa this December.
"Hey India, I'm really excited for my debut performance in India. I can't wait to meet all my Indian fans at Time Out 72 this December in Goa," Khalifa, 29, said in a statement.
Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll aka KYGO, has gone from being a small time bedroom producer to one of the most hyped electronic artists of recent times. He has his own genre of music — Tropical house.
Karan Singh, the Global CEO of Sunburn said: "KYGO is an artist like no other. Changing the dynamics of EDM festivals and giving it a multi sensory experience, we are curating a one of a kind arena tour that will bring to life an unparalleled live music experience for all attendees."
KYGO has worked with international names like U2, Selena Gomez and Ed Sheeran to name a few and has had sold out shows in North America and Europe. He has also headlined prestigious music festivals like Tomorrow World and Findings. KYGO signed a worldwide recording deal with Sony Music Entertainment in September. He garnered international attention with his remix of the track 'I See Fire' by Sheeran and his popular single 'Firestone'. KYGO has since released several singles, such as 'Stole the Show', 'Here For You', 'Stay' and 'It Ain't Me'; tracks that have found themselves on several international charts. He made history at the Rio Olympics, when he became the first house music producer to perform at an Olympics closing ceremony.
Khalifa on the other hand, will be joining the ranks of multi-platinum recording artistes Jason Derulo and DJ Martin Garrix, Khalifa will be headlining Day Two of the Time Out 72 festival, which will be span across 27-29 December. The festival has been conceptualised and produced by Waterlemon Events LLP and Sudarshan Entertainment World.
"We believe there is a huge market for hip-hop and rap which remain neglected in the festival arena. Wiz was our number one choice and we are extremely happy to host him in India for the very first time. Beyond their performances at the festival, we will ensure the artistes get an opportunity to get up close and personal with their fans," said Vaishal Shah, Founder, Time Out 72.
