Pan-India homebuyers’ pressure group Fight For RERA has formed a non-profit company called Forum for People’s Collective Efforts (FPCE) which would represent the buyers in all the cases pertaining to the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act in the Bombay High Court.

“The FPCE has filed an impleadment application with the Bombay High Court. With this impleadment petition, FPCE will become a party which would represent homebuyers across the country,” Abhay Upadhyay national convener of Fight For RERA and president of FPCE, said.

Over the last few months, many builders have challenged the provisions of RERA in different courts across the country. The housing and urban development ministry had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to transfer over two dozen cases filed in different benches of high courts challenging the provisions of RERA to one court. There are six petitions of developers in the Bombay HC, two in Nagpur bench and one in Aurangabad bench. Three cases are pending in Madhya Pradesh HC and 12 cases in Karnataka HC.
