Ithihasa, directed by Binu S, has turned a sleeper hit on its release in 2014. Now, the same team is planning a sequel to the movie that has been titled Ithihasa 2. The movie, that will be directed by Binu himself,  is produced by Rajesh Augustin. Ithihasa was a fantasy comedy that had Shine Tom Chacko in the lead. It narrated the story of body swapping and its consequences. On its release, the movie was met with success at the box office.

The buzz is that Binu will helm the movie after the release of his latest work Kaamuki that has Ashkar Ali and Aparna Balamuarali in the lead. Kaamuki narrates the tale of a blind youth and his love affair with the character played by Aparna.
