Jaipur: Forty-year-old Maheep Rathore who had killed his live-in partner had approached everyone starting from chief minister to top police officials of Jaipur on his plight before committing the crime in a fit of rage. Finally, with no options left, he took the extreme step.

TOI on Wednesday got the copy of his email sent on September 20 to everyone, including chief minister Vasundhara Raje, DGP, commissioner of police, two additional commissioners of police, police station Kardhani and other important officials of the Jaipur police. The accused had stated that woman has been pressurizing him to marry her else she will implicate him in a rape case.

In the email, Maheep had clearly said that woman was threatening him to marry and if he denies she will implicating him in a rape case. He had also stated that the woman was harassing him for the past four months.

According to sources, the accused also visited Karni Vihar police station where the police officer rather than helping him asked to provide the evidences to validate his claims. "He had visited the police station where he did not said that woman was threatening him to lodge a rape case against him. He merely said she is blackmailing to marry her," said Ashok Gupta, deputy commissioner of police( West).

When asked about the procedure followed when such emails are received, Sanjay Agarwal, commissioner of police, said, "I will have to check if I got his email or not and when it was forwarded. Usually such applications from my offices are forwarded to the DCPs concerned for investigations."

Meanwhile, all this took place in a scenario when Rajasthan police makes claims on online registration of FIR.

Police officials said that on September 9, in the morning the woman and Maheep had a verbal spat. "Since Maheep had blisters in the mouth, he asked the 11-year-old son of the woman to bring some medicines and later hit the woman with a blunt weapon. Later, when the boy returned he asked him to come along since woman was taken to the police station and reached Falana," said Aas Mohammad, assistant commissioner of police, Jhotwara.

The accused is under detention as he will have to undergo some surgeries.
