JAIPUR: Opposition leader Rameshwar Dudi blamed the Raje government for the current power crisis prevailing in the state. He said due to the mismanagement of the BJP government the state is facing load shedding and power cut during the festive Diwali and the ensuing Rabi season.

He said the government claims that only five hours power cut in the villages but the fact is that the farmers are getting hardly five hours power.

The government blames coal shortage for the power cut despite the state is abundant in lignite. He asked the government who is responsible for the poor condition of the Barsigsar thermal power station in Bikaner.

He alleged that the state government in order to favour a business family has neglected the Central PSU Neyveli Lignite Corporation. He alleged that power purchase agreement between Neyveli Lignite Corporation and Barsigsar Thermal power had to be renewed in 2015 but the state government decided against it. Similar is the condition of lignite power plant at Giral in Barmer.

He said the previous Congress government had made plans for the setting up of a lignite power plant at Beethnokh under Kolayat tehsil in Bikaner but the Raje government scuttled the plan, he alleged. Dudi alleged that the current power crisis in the state is the result of anarchy and corruption of the BJP government. He alleged that in order to favour the private sector the government is trying to bring bad name to the power production and distribution system in in the state.
