The Economic Advisory Council to PM Narendra Modi has picked 10 issues to work on after the Council's first meeting since its formation.

Bibek Debroy, Chairman of Economic Advisory Council, listed out all the issues today, saying "We picked 10 issues that we'll initially work on."

- Employment & job creation
- Informal sector and integration of informal sector
- Fiscal framework
- Monetary policy
- Public expenditure and efficiency of public expenditure
- Institutions of the economic governance
- Agriculture and animal husbandry
- Patterns of consumption
- Production and social sector
Debroy said whenever the Council would take any view on monetary policy, the members will discuss with RBI.
The Council has been set up with the approval of the Prime Minister on September 26, 2017.
Its members include NITI Aayog member Bibek Debroy as chairman, principal adviser to NITI Aayog Ratan P Watal as member secretary and Surjit Bhalla, Rathin Roy and Ashima Goyal as part-time members.
The Council is mandated to analyse all critical issues, economic or otherwise referred to it by the Prime Minister and advising him thereon. It is also required to address issues of macroeconomic importance and presenting views thereon.
