Sonipat-based Ashoka University on Monday announced the opening of its admission for its first round of admissions for the undergraduate programme.
Courses galore
The university said it offers multi-disciplinary courses aimed at exposing students to many different perspectives in and out of the classroom.
“Students work towards a three-year B.A. (Honours) or B.Sc.(Honours) degree at Ashoka, choosing from a variety of pure and interdisciplinary majors,” the varsity said in a statement.
“A fourth-year postgraduate diploma programme is open to all Ashoka graduates who would like to conduct further research in an academic discipline of their choice or an internship in the social sector,” the university said in a statement.
The admission process will begin from Wednesday and the university will commence its fifth batch of undergraduates on August 18.
The admission process does not rely only on board exam scores of students and takes into account a student’s scores from Class IX onwards, extra-curricular activities, social work and other achievements.
SAT scores
Students can also share their SAT or ACT scores, and a letter of recommendation that can supplement their application.
A candidate is then short-listed for a personal interview with the admissions team and a mandatory on-the-spot essay and an optional Ashoka Aptitude Test (AAT).
Financial aid
The university announced that it will also offer a financial aid programme, where need-based financial support is offered to all students who have limited resources and means.
