Tension prevailed for some time at the district headquarters on Monday when police arrested Congress former MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy who was on his way to hold the blockade of the highway against not conducting district selection committee (DSC) examinations.
Mr Jayaprakash Reddy came in a rally from Ram Mandir at old bus stand and hardly a kilometre away was located the town police station. The police arrested him and shifted to the police station soon after Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy reached there along with his supporters,
“The government has promised to conduct DSC but it never materialised and the government stating one or the other reason for not conducting the examination. Lakhs of unemployed are keeping hope on that but the government has been dashing their hopes. We will continue our agitation and support to the unemployed till the government comes down and meet their demand,” said Mr Jayaprakash Reddy.
Though the Congress leaders planned for highway blockade the police prevented them from doing so.
