A bio-medical engineering student committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his room on Monday morning.

Piyush Kashyap, 20, a student of Goyal Institute in Lucknow, had been requesting his father to buy a motorcycle for him. The family had agreed to his demand, but the boy apparently developed a notion that his wish would not be granted, said cops.

Kashyap and his three sisters were staying at their relative’s house at Vikas Nagar. His father, Ram Sahare Kashyap, resides in Banthra area of Sarojini Nagar along with other members of the family.

The police sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

In another incident, a Class 6 girl ended her life by hanging herself from a rod attached with a window at her residence.

Muskan, 14, was living in her uncle’s house at Saraswatipuram under the PGI police station.

The police said as she was staying away from her parents, she used to remain detached from everyone at her uncle’s house in Lucknow and took the extreme step due to depression.

A few days ago, Muskan’s uncle, Satyendra Kumar, had brought her to Lucknow from her native place, Hardoi. He also got her enrolled in a nearby school.

On Monday morning, when Kumar left for work and his wife went to pick her children from school, Muskan locked the main door of the house and committed suicide.

When Kumar’s wife reached home, she found the front door locked. She called the neighbours when there was no response after knocking at the door.

When the door was broke-open, the girl was found hanging.

Cops said the girl’s father was a farmer in a village of Hardoi while her mother was working in Chandigarh. He had been sick for several years.

In the third incident, Rachna, 17, a resident of Luv Kush Nagar under Ghazipur police station, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her room on Monday.

Father of the deceased, Raju, a contractual worker, his wife and two sons, were out for some work when the incident occurred.

When the family returned, they found the main door of the house bolted from inside. When there was no reply, the family broke open the door and found Rachna hanging.

Neither family members nor the police could ascertain the reason for Rachna’s extreme step.
