It's no secret that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson fought with Vin Diesel during the filming of The Fate of the Furious. But when it comes to Johnson's latest feud with another Fast actor, Vin Diesel made it clear that he has The Rock's back.

In case you missed it, Tyrese Gibson recently blamed The Rock for the new Fast installment being pushed back a year to spring 2020. After the new release date was revealed, Gibson took to social media to publicly slam The Rock, saying he made the franchise all about himself.

But Vin Diesel clapped back. In a lengthy Instagram post, the Fast star and producer defended The Rock and reminisced about a particular scene he filmed with him.

“I know there has been a lot of speculation as to why the Fast 9 release date was pushed...but it would be unfair to say it is anyone’s fault,” Vin Diesel wrote.

He wrote that the franchise is in need of maintenance just “like any vehicle that has run around the globe eight times,” and that he was given time to work on it. He ended on a positive note, declaring that "exciting news" will be announced soon. (Want to get in shape like the Fast cast? Try the Metashred Extreme workout program from Men's Health.)

Vin Diesel has stuck up for The Rock in the past, even in times of turmoil. In an interview during their months-long feud, he called The Rock his "brother" and said he'd protected him.

Behind The Scenes With The Rock:

“I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know," he said. "And it doesn't matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it. Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that’s me.”

Looks like Vin Diesel takes the idea of the Fast family seriously, even outside of the films.
