Bengaluru, October 10:
The appointment of Nandan Nilekani as the non executive, non-independent director of Infosys has received overwhelming approval from the shareholders in the postal ballot that ended on October 7.
The results of the postal ballot showed that 99.50 voted in favour of Nilekani’s appointment while 99.61 in favour of UB Praveen Rao’s appointment as managing director.
A total of 99.74 per cent of the shareholders who voted via the postal ballot were in favour of the buyback. About 99.57 per cent of the shareholders voted in favour of D Sundaram’s appointment as an independent director.
The voting was held between September 8 and October 7 this year both for physical ballots and e-voting.
