Cop’s death: Kin cries foul

BENGALURU: A 52-year-old head constable with Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) allegedly died after a PSI’s son pushed him during a spat on parking the bike at the KSRP premises in Kudlu Gate near Parappana Agrahara. The deceased Appaji was working at the KSRP 9th Battalion camp located on Hosa Road. Police have detained the accused Rupesh, son of PSI Yerriswamy.
A senior police officer said that the incident happened three days ago. “The duo fought over parking their bikes and in a fit of rage, Rupesh pushed Appaji. Appaji, who was sitting on the bike, fell down along with the bike. Other staff members intervened and asked Rupesh to leave. Appaji then started complaining of chest pain and was rushed to Narayana Hrudayalaya, where he died on Monday evening.”Appaji’s family alleged that Rupesh is responsible for the death and filed a murder case with the Parappana Agrahara police. “Appaji’s body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain
the exact cause of death,” an official said.
