UK runner wins Malnad Marathon

CHIKMAGALURU:  Paul Giblin from the United Kingdom won the Coffee Day Malnad Ultra Marathon 110 km division race held at Kemmannugundi. Last year, Atreya from Bengaluru had created a record by walking the distance in 13 hours and 55 minutes.

Giblin maintained the lead from the beginning and reached the destination at 6.33 pm by covering the 110 km in just 12 hours and 48 minutes, thus breaking Atreya’s record. Kairon D’Souza from Nagpur emerged victorious in the 50-km division.As many as 471 runners, including from Germany , America, England, China, Korea and UK, took part in the marathon.
