Gang of 21 arrested for midnight kidnapping and murder in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: The Bengaluru police arrested 21 men a few hours after they had kidnapped three men from the vicinity of V-Care Hospital on Devegowda Road of in Bengaluru at 1.30 am Tuesday.

Police found one of the captives dead, lying in a pool of blood in a farmhouse and the other two stabbed. Police suspect that the crime was the result of a financial dispute.

The murdered captive has been identified as Noor Ahmed (28), a resident of J C Nagar. The other two — Saddam and Saleem alias Kaliyaas of Chamarajpet — were seriously injured. 

Among the 21 men arrested is the kingpin of the gang, Zunaid Ahmed, a businessman.

A police officer said the gang drove up in three Scorpios to the three men while they walking in front of V Care Hospital at about 1.30 am Tuesday and bundled them into the cars. A passerby noticed the incident and alerted the Police Control Room.

Police received a tipoff that the kidnappers were headed towards Gouribidanuru. The local police raided a farmhouse in the morning and found Noor lying in a pool of blood and the other two stabbed. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.
