SAMBALPUR:Sambalpur cops are planning to send DNA sample of a baby for test suspecting him to be the child who was stolen from the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here on March 24. The Town police are also interrogating a couple from Bargarh who claims to have adopted the baby.
Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora said they have initiated investigation into the matter and DNA sample of the baby along with that of the parents whose child was stolen will be sent for test on Tuesday. The DNA test will ascertain whether the baby with the couple from Bargarh is the same child who was stolen from the DHH or not, he informed.
A newborn baby was stolen by a woman from the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ward of DHH here in the wee hours of March 24.The footage of the woman, who lifted the newborn from the hospital, was captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the DHH.
