Only a petty case registered against a CCS sub-inspector: party spokesperson

BJP State official spokesperson Bandi Sanjay Kumar has flayed the State government for diluting the Nerella police torture incident in Rajanna-Sircilla district by registering only a petty case against a Siricilla Central Crime Station sub-inspector.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he alleged that the State government was shielding Rajanna-Sircilla district police, who brutally tortured six innocent villagers including three Dalits on the charges of burning a sand-laden lorry for causing accident in the district. He said that the district police had registered an FIR number 137/2017 on October 6 on a complained by unknown person K Ganesh and registered a petty case against CCS SI Ravinder.

When the victims told all the political parties, DGP, NHRC and National SC commission that the Rajanna-Sircilla district SP and others had brutally tortured them and threatened to kill three months ago, he asked why hurriedly a petty case was registered against Siricilla Central Crime Station SI.

He charged that the district police were planning to dilute the Nerella case to avoid the wrath of the Dalits and others during Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s maiden visit to Sircilla town on October 11. He also found fault with the police for not registering SC\ST Atrocities case against the accused police personnel involved in the torture and abuse of Dalits in spite of submitting petitions to the concerned police officials.
