DMK's MK Stalin seems to be the latest political leader to join the bandwagon of those criticising the Modi government over the recent report on the dramatic increase in profits of a firm owned by BJP chief Amit Shah's son.

Stalin, who is occupied in the political affairs of the crisis-ridden Tamil Nadu, today took a jibe at the Prime MinisterNarendra Modi-led government.

Stalin said that the BJP had the habit of unleashing the Income Tax and Enforcement Directorate brigade against the Opposition even before verifying the allegations levelled against them.

He asked if the party would follow the same exercise in Amit Shah's son's case.

"Ceasar's wife should be above suspicion. Modi being the Prime Minister, will he take necessary actions to find the truth?" asked Stalin.

Jay Amit Shah's issue cropped up after an article in a news website was published on how he made a fortune in his business. Jay had later filed a Rs 100 crore defamation case against the website.

Stalin also asked if the BJP leaders and Amit Shah's son benefitted from the prime minister's demonetisation drive.
