Man held 6 months after entering India illegally

JAISALMER: CID wing of Border Intelligence nabbed a man on Monday for allegedly entering India by illegally crossing over the India-Pakistan border 6 months ago.
Officials said Hassan Khan, 55, had entered India in April this year and kept hiding at different places in Gujarat and Maharashtra before investigating agencies nabbed him. He had come to meet his ailing parents who live with his wife and children in Siyalon Ki Dhani under Sam police station area in Jaisalmer district.
"He would be interrogated by a joint team of RAW, central intelligence bureau and mili tary intelligence officers to gather more details about the gang that helped him cross the fence," said Rajiv Dutta, additional SP, CID wing of Border intelligence told TOI. Dutta said Hassan paid Pakistani Rupees 5,000 to touts to help him cross the porous India-Pakistan border. He told investigators that he had illegally entered Pakistan in 1990 to meet his ailing brother-in-law in Kharado village in Amarkot district. Twenty-seven years later, he took the same route to come back to India and was helped by a tout.
"Hassan claims that a person of Meer Khan Ki Dhani in Amarkot in Pakistan helped him cross the fence," Dutta said.
