A boat carrying Rohingya refugees capsized on October 8 in the mouth of Naf river that separates Myanmar from Bangladesh. Atleast 12 were dead and many went missing from the boat which was overloaded with about 100 people, coast guard and border guard officials said. The dead included 10 children, an elderly woman and man. Nearly 520,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh since August 25, the day since crisis erupted after Rohingya militants raided Myanmar police posts, leading to a brutal military backlash.
