‘Entrepreneurship Theatre’ paves a way to self discovery
tnn | Oct 10, 2017, 03:01 ISTNagpur: In a bid to help budding entrepreneurs realize their area of interest through arts, a two-day workshop 'Entrepreneurship Theatre: Explore your need for starting a business' was organized by Lemon School of Entrepreneurship, Besa, on Saturday. A professor at IIM and a visiting faculty at Lemon Ideas, S Jeyavelu conducted the engaging session attended by a handful of people with a vision for start ups.
"In the game of life, you need to switch roles constantly in order to deal with the changing circumstances. The attributes of artistes are on the same lines where they mould themselves according to their script while presenting theatre. Entrepnuerneurs, too, are expected to work similarly and adapt changes at every point for the ease of doing business," said Nupur Mukherjee, manager operations at Lemon.
Jeyavelu who has hails from Bangalore has been conducting this one of a kind workshop at various institutes across the country including IIMs. The technique is very useful for people who are willing to try their hand at business but lack a little push, he said.
"Attendees get involved in acting, painting and other creative activities because arts are a great way to discover one's self and hear the inner calling. They come to know where they belong and what kind of business would suit their personality the best with theatre games as a medium. We help them bring out their emotions and make them explore the possibilities," he said.
The one of a kind workshop in city widened horizons of inquisitive bunch of participants and gave them basic idea of requirements to roll out things smoothly in business. 19 year old Krishnakant Chaturvedi said, "It has made my approach more practical and taught self analysis."
A 38-year-old practicing dentist, Neena Veerani was looking out for more opportunities regarding health care where she can start a business. The first day's session seemed quite eye opening for her and she said, "Women in Nagpur have great potential but lag behind in confidence due to less exposure. We need more influential activities like these to upgrade skills of people."
