5 die of dengue in 10 days in Tirupur

Five people, including four children, have died due to dengue fever in last 10 days in Tirupur district. All of them died after they were referred to tertiary hospitals including the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital and other private hospitals in Coimbatore. B Divya Dharani, 9, of Koothampalayam and K Revathi, 37, of Kallampalayam lost their lives after being tested positive for dengue fever in the last two days. Both were first admitted in private hospitals for primary care and were later rushed to two private tertiary hospitals in Coimbatore, health department sources said. TNN
