RSS annual parade held amid tight security in Dharapuram
tnn | Updated: Oct 10, 2017, 00:26 ISTTirupur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) district unit organised its annual parade in Dharapuram on Sunday. As many as 573 members took part in the event.
For the first time in the district, the participants sported brown pants instead of khaki trousers, along with white shirt and black cap. "We had conducted the annual parade in the dollar city last year. So, we changed the venue to Dharapuram this year," said Mohan, a functionary.
The parade was flagged off by Thangavelu from Periyakaliamman Koil on the evening hours of Sunday amidst tight police protection. It encircled Chenniappa Nagar, Kannan Nagar, TANGEDCO office and Taluk office before ending at Periyakaliamman temple.
