Actor Shruti Haasan

BENGALURU: Looks like Shruti Haasan's latest tweet on Kannada films has not gone down well with a few people from the industry, especially with actor Jaggesh.

Let’s rewind: Nanda Kishore was keen on roping in Shruthi Haasan for his upcoming film Pogaru, opposite Dhruva Sarja, and the team had approached the actress for this. Her casting agencies, we hear, had led the team to believe that the actress would be happy to do this movie.

But Shruti, who came to know of this through various reports, had tweeted that she had no such plans. It read: “Clarifying that I have no plans of doing a Kannada film in the near future and have had no discussion with any1 regarding it either #rumor.”

Jaggesh, who came to know of Shruti's tweet, expressed his displeasure and through Twitter. In his first tweet, Jaggesh says, "There is no short of heroines in Kannada.  Producers are not beggars to stand in front of heroines, who have displeasure in working in Kannada industry. Unfortunately, our people are still to learn lessons.”

His next tweet read: “These heroines can nowhere be compared to our college girls in Karnataka. Youth will run miles away if they see them without makeup. They make good business with their films in Karnataka, but they don't want to be part of Kannada films.”

Here is the actor's tweet:

Nanda Kishore says, “We approach an actress for her talent…We were keen to bring in Sruthi because we thought she fits the bill. Our producer spoke to her casting agencies and even I was asked to send the synopsis of my upcoming project. I felt the tweet from Shruti was definitely uncalled for.”
