'Masiha' Sushma Swaraj assures medical visa to Pakistani man

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday assured a medical visa to a Pakistani man in urgent need of a liver transplant.
"Yes, we are granting visa for your father's liver transplant surgery in India," Swaraj responded to Hamid Ali Ashraf, who had written to her about his father's condition.
"@SushmaSwaraj Respected mam please help us my father need liver trnsplant his condtion is vry bad please issue the visa i request u mam pls (sic)," Ashraf had tweeted.
Many took to Twitter to hail the minister's actions, and she even retweeted two such reactions.
"Good thanks Alot..This is a great gesture by india..We Pakistani Give u huge applause on it. Stay Blessed (sic)," tweeted the handle @Waqas_amjad.
Another user retweeted by Swaraj called her a 'masiha' - or saviour - for the Pakistani people.
"Madam Minister, you are Masiha for Pakistani people. God Bless you (sic)," tweeted Shakil Ahmed.
Swaraj has been extremely active on social media to help those across the border in immediate need of medical treatment.
Incidentally, Ashraf had also reached out to Pakistan's Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Twitter for help with his situation. He does not appear to have responded.
