Police seizes Pseudo-ephedrine worth Rs 1.20 crore

Police have seized 12 kg of Pseudo-ephedrine, worth around Rs 1.20 crore from Champhai town near Mizoram-Myanmar border and arrested two persons in this connection.

Police today said the drugs was seized on Saturday.


Two persons both residents of Champhai town were arrested in this connection.

Pseudo-ephedrine, legally manufactured in India, is a precursor for clandestine manufacture of Methamphetamine tablets in the laboratories in Myanmar, according to enforcement agencies.

Crores of rupees worth of Pseudo-ephedrine had been seized in the north eastern states, especially those sharing international border with Myanmar.
