The much-awaited Padmavati trailer, released at 1:03 pm on Monday, is definitely worth all our wait. In the 3-minute long clip, Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji, Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Singh are exuding pure brilliance, and no other actor could have pulled off their characters with such finesse. Here are five things in the trailer that are sure to make you go wow:
1. Ranveer Singh
There is no doubt that Ranveer is the real show-stopper of this star-studded trailer. His looks are as menacing as they are enticing. He is walking the walk and talking the talk, doing full justice to the character of Alauddin Khilji. Gorging meat like an animal, defeating his opponents without mercy, Ranveer is donning a never-seen-before avatar with sheer flamboyance. The only words uttered from his mouth is his intimidating laugh and that is pretty much enough for fans to go berserk over his demeanor.2. Background score
Living up to our expectations, the Padmavati trailer starts on an intense note and glorifying it even more is its marvellous background score by Sanchit Balhara. The music just makes the cinematography all the more perfect and gives us all kinds of goosebumps. What makes the background score so different is its perfect timing actually. Did you notice the how beat mounts when Ranveer enters the scene?3. Humongous armies and gory battles
What Padmavati also promises in its trailer is a large-scale battle between the two empires led by Alauddin Khilji and Maharawal Ratan Singh, respectively. With the Rajputs and Turks on opposite sides, the trailer makes sure to deliver the point that this battle sequence could be as gory and vivid as a Game of Thrones war sequence.4. Dialogue delivery
With just two monologues from Shahid and Deepika, Padmavati creates ripples of excitement among fans. Not only are they beautifully penned and extremely powerful, the lines are delivered by two of the finest actors in Bollywood - Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.5. Glorifying India's culture
Bollywood period dramas always have a different kind of aura around them. And in Padmavati, this enthusiasm is heightened by the two extremely different sides that are portrayed. While one is all things regal, the other is everything savage. Bhansali's effort in bringing this rich Indian heritage to the forefront with Padmavati is not one to go unnoticed. From the characters' dialogues to their looks, everything about this period saga is gorgeous and en pointe.
