Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today appealed to the French government to ensure that President Emmanuel Macron included Puducherry in his itinerary during his forthcoming visit to India in December.
Narayanasamy was addressing a team of French officials and delegates at the inauguration of a one-day conference on 'Smart City Project for Puducherry' organised by Smart City Development Limited here.
He urged French Ambassador to India Alexandre Ziegler to ensure that Puducherry was part of the itinerary of Macron visiting India in December this year.
"We will also request the Centre in this regard and I also request the Ambassador to ensure that the President visited Puducherry, a former French colony," he said.
Among those present at the inauguration of the conference was Consul General of France in Puducherry Catherine Suard.
