After 19 months, Kolkata Port Trust finally gets full-time chairman

Vinit Kumar takes over from M T Krishna Babu, chairman of Vizag Port Trust who was entrusted with the additional charge of KoPT since March 2016

Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer, Vinit Kumar, on Monday, took over as full-time chairman of (KoPT).

Kumar takes over the charge from M T Krishna Babu, chairman of who was entrusted with the additional charge of KoPT since March, 2016.

In a statement, KoPT said that Kumar, a 1993 batch officer, was the chief electrical engineer in Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd. and was looking after the funded Project.

In his previous stints, Kumar has been the secretary at and gained multi-dimensional experience in general administration.

Kumar did his BE in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering and obtained PGDBA in marketing from Symbiosis Institute, Pune. Later, he attended training programme on Management in ICLIF, Malaysia and INSEAD, Singapore.
