Mandy Moore undergoes upper endoscopy to test for celiac

'This Is Us' actor Mandy Moore documented her test on the Instagram story and told her followers she had to go through the procedure of upper endoscopy to test for celiac disease. It had been the only way to get a diagnosis.

Actor-singer Mandy Moore has undergone a procedure of upper endoscopy to test for celiac disease. The 33-year-old actor documented her test on the Instagram story and told her followers she had to go through the procedure as it was the only way to get a diagnosis.

“Grog city. Just had an upper endoscopy to officially see whether or not I have celiac (disease) (only way to officially diagnose)… things are looking)” wrote Moore, alongside a selfie in the hospital scrubs. According to the Celiac Disease Foundation, it is an autoimmune disorder that negatively affects the way people digest gluten.

The ‘Princess Diaries’ actor, who recently got engaged to Taylor Goldsmith, revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with celiac disease. “Well, this definitely takes the (now gluten free cake) for bummer news. Any celiac sufferers out there with any helpful tips??” she had written. Later, Moore wrote another post, thanking her fans for sharing their knowledge.

On the work front, Mandy Moore’s popular television show ‘This Is Us’ is back with Season 2. The show has a sentimental narrative, and it finely explores life issues such as insecurities, anxiety, depression, humiliation and other troubles human beings mentally go through but swallow it while attempting to move on with their personal lives. There comes a point when all the characters face their weaknesses and those episodes make us reach for the tissue. ‘This Is Us’ deals with modern day complicated relationships.
