Actor Jai’s license suspended, fined Rs 5200 for drunk driving

Jai’s license has been suspended for 6 months.

Actor Jai, who was earlier arrested and let on bail for drunk driving, has been charged a fine of Rs 5200 for the same. The Balloon actor’s license has also been suspended for 6 months as punishment for the same. According to media reports, the actor who had appeared at the Saidapet Magistrate Court on Saturday admitted to have been drunk when he was driving his car on September 21. The actor had rammed his Audi car onto a divider on the Adayar flyover in Chennai, allegedly driving after a party with friends. His actor friend Premgi Amaren was also with him in the car. A report in The Hindu also said that a warrant was issued against him as Jai failed to appear in front of the court for the second day.

Since the actor had a similar case registered against him earlier, Chennai traffic police had suggested cancelling his driver license. In 2014, Jai had rammed into the divider on the flyover near Kasi theatre.

On the work front, Jai’s Balloon is set for release on September 27. The film also features Anjali and Janani Iyer and has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film made headlines recently for having a tribute song to Bigg Boss fame Oviya titled Neenga shut up pannunga after her famous punchline on the show. The Raja Rani actor is also part of Sundar C’s Kalakalapu 2 along with Jiiva, Mirchi Shiva, Catherine Tresa and Nikki Galrani. He also has Venkat Prabhu’s Party in the pipeline.
