Car stolen from driver who offered 3 men a lift

GURUGRAM: A driver for a private company was robbed of his Swift and attacked by three men, he gave a lift to, on Monday night. Karim Khan, the driver, met the men around Iffco Chowk. A zero FIR was first registered at a police station in Faridabad that was later transferred to DLF-1 police station on Friday.


In his police complaint, Khan, a resident of Bhupani in Faridabad, said, "On the night of October 2, I came to Gurgaon for work in the company-owned car. I was returning to Faridabad and was near Iffco Chowk when I gave three men a lift."


After driving around 8-9 kilometres when they reached the military area on Gurgaon-Faridabad road, the trio overpowered Khan and attacked him. Following this, they forced Khan out of the car and drove away. Khan then went to Faridabad and informed the company management, and went to Surajkund police station, where the zero FIR was registered.


Khan was robbed of his phone and driver's license too, as they were in the car. After a preliminary investigation, the Faridabad police transferred the case to Gurgaon, as the area where the crime occurred falls under the jurisdiction of Gurgaon police. An FIR was registered on Friday under section 379B (snatching with the use of force) and 120B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) of the IPC. ASI Rishipal of DLF Phase 1 police station said, "We have summoned Khan to identify the spot and have started investigating the case. No arrests have been made so far."
