CHENNAI: A day after release on parole, V K Sasikala on Saturday met her husband M Natarajan, who is recuperating in a private hospital at Perumbakkam, following liver and kidney transplantation. She spent around two hours in the hospital and returned to her relative’s house at T Nagar where she will be staying for the next five days.
On her way to hospital, Sasikala offered prayers at Kotturpuram Vinayaka temple, where the late CM Jayalalithaa used to stop her car whenever she passed that way. She reciprocated the greetings from her supporters with folded hands. She also spoke a few words to a daughter of a party worker and wished her all the best.
Meanwhile, Nanjil Sampath, a supporter of TTV Dhinakaran, said that Natarajan had undergone very vital surgeries and he has to be in ICU for at least one week. “So, it will be difficult for Sasikala even to speak to him freely at this crucial time. Hence, we will take steps to extend the parole period beyond five days,” he said.
Sasikala’s five-day parole ends on October 11. She has to return to Parappana Agrahara prison on October 12.
