
In his maiden visit to Vadnagar after becoming the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi paid a visit to the school he went to, in his childhood. Showing his gratitude to the school, the Prime Minister kneeled down and touched the dust on the ground outside the gate of the school and applied it on his forehead like a ’tilak’. Vadnagar is the place where Modi was born and assisted his father in his tea-stall. The banners outside Modi’s school, BN High School boasts of Modi’s effort in getting his school to win a Kabaddi match and how he helped in the collection of funds for the school through street plays.

Coming to his schedule for the day, PM Modi will launch the Intensified Mission Indradhanush, to accelerate progress towards the goal of full immunization coverage, as per a report by the Indian Express. He also held a road show from Gunja village, and travelled through Vadnagar, crossing the railway station, his school, Hatkeshwar temple, where he is performing puja. A large crowd gathered at PM Modi’s roadshow, showering him with flowers. The police have been deployed to manage the crowd. Ahead of PM’s home-coming in Vadnagar the entire town was decorated for his warm reception.
In his three day visit to Gujarat, ahead of assembly elections in the state, Modi dedicated the newly constructed building of IIT, Gandhinagar to the nation. While addressing the crowd he stressed on innovation rather than exam driven academics. He also laid the foundation stone of the international airport in Rajkot. As per PIB, Modi said, “The world’s attention is being drawn to India. People are coming to invest here. All this will bring opportunities for the people of India. I see Gujarat contributing actively to the development of India & congratulate the Gujarat Government.”
PM Modi also inaugurated GMERS Medical College in Vadnagar in presence of Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and Union Health Minister JP Nadda as per the Indian Express report.
