New wing to work for women doctors’ welfare, says Patni

JAIPUR: A women's wing of Jaipur Medical Association (JMA) has been formed as its auxiliary body. Dr Vinita Patni has been appointed as president, while Dr Aditi Bansal will be secretary of women's wing. Dr Sheelu Jain will take the post of treasurer, while Dr Dr Geeta Ahuja and Dr Renu Jain will take responsibility as vice-president. Joint secretaries will be Dr Ashu Agarwal Shah and Dr Anshu Patodia.
JMA president Dr Rakesh Jain said that at a time when a lot of focus is on strengthening of women, forming of women wing of doctors will help them in raising their voice.
"We will diligently work for the welfare of women doctors, their work related problems, security at workplace involving local, state, national authorities. Also, we will foster friendship, enhance companionship and unity and to bring all women doctors together for the overall welfare and strength of the Indian Medical Association," said, Dr Vinita Patni, president of JMA women's wing.
Also, the women's wing will promote lectures and seminars in girls colleges and schools to spread awareness of female health issues, girl problems saving the girl child, prevention of nutritional disorders in girls and women and promoting sexual safety in young women.
Dr Patni said, they will cooperate and involve similar organisations for upliftment of women and human society in general, in particular women and child health related issues as cancer, malnutrition, depressive disorders. Moreover, they will enhance women doctors' involvement in social, cultural and multifaceted fields as deemed necessary for improvement of society, nature, she said.
