16 held for black market sale of  U-17 WC tickets

KOCHI: The City Shadow police on Saturday arrested 16 persons allegedly involved in the sale of  FIFA U-17 World Cup tickets on the black market. As many as 200 tickets, which had been bought online and sold on the black market for outrageous sums, were seized. The incident came to light during the inspections conducted at the JNI Stadium and its premises by six teams. According to the police, Sidhique, 37 of Kasargod, had bought the tickets online and was selling it with the help of a six-member gang. About 50 tickets were recovered.
