Chairman and MD of the Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania, stormed to victory in the first two races from a field of 15 at the 2014 Pirelli Ferrari Open at Great Britain's Brands Hatch Indy circuit on Sunday.

After a leg injury ended his hopes of competing last year, this is Singhania's debut season in the Pirelli Ferrari Open that comprises 13 races across six venues.
Singhania, who raced in his Ferrari 458 Challenge, was also chosen as the Best Driver of the weekend from over 200 participants who raced across different classes.
"This weekend was a fantastic one. It was good fun racing here. I learnt to race on this circuit when I was 16," Singhania told mid-day over the phone from England yesterday.
However, the race was anything but easy. "In both races, I qualified third. But during the first race, a guy pushed me into the wall. Despite the cars barging into each other, I won the race, which was 25-minute long, by a 42-second margin.
Scorching the tracks
"In the second race, which was a 40-minute one, I led almost the entire race," recalled Singhania, who added proudly that he touched 200kmph during the race — a commendable feat considering a Formula One car runs at an average of 300kmph on race days.
Singhania also said that he takes time out of his busy schedule to train at Greater Noida's Buddh International Circuit.
