Free water supply for Ghaziabad: AAP

GHAZIABAD: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) released the first list of 38 candidates on Sunday for urban local body elections in Ghaziabad district with a slew of promises including free water supply and halving of house tax rates in the city.


In a press conference held on Sunday, AAP office-bearers informed that the party will field candidates from all seats for the municipal bodies of Ghaziabad, Loni, Modinagar and Khoda.


AAP will launch a manifesto for the municipal elections of UP on October 15 in Lucknow. "We are scheduled to release another list of 50 candidates on October 15. We have already highlighted certain key civic issues pertaining to Ghaziabad. We have promised to provide free water to each house in the city. House taxes for all categories will also be halved if the AAP is elected to power. These are a few amongst a set of promises for Ghaziabad," Sachin Sharma, Ghaziabad AAP convener told TOI.


Khoda, which has been notified as a Nagar Palika, will vote in the urban local body elections for the first time. There are a total number of 36 seats in Khoda. The GMC has 100 seats, both the nagar palikas of Loni and Muradnagar have 55 seats while nagar palika of Modinagar has 30 seats.
