A short video released by the government shows Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman interacting with Chinese soldiers at the Nathu La border post during her visit there.

At the beginning of the video, a Chinese officer is seen introducing his colleagues to Sitharaman. Halfway through, the defence minister greets the officers' colleagues with a "namaste" and then proceeds to explain what the Hindi word means.

The Chinese officer, in turn, teaches Sitharaman the Chinese phrase to greet someone - "Ni hao".
