UP: Boy dies after being allegedly sodomised, villagers stir trouble

The class 5 boy was on his way home on Saturday night when two people of the same village allegedly abducted him and sodomised him.

An 11-year-old Dalit boy died on Sunday morning after he was allegedly sodomised by two persons in their 30s in a village under Utraon police station of Trans-Ganga of the district late on Saturday night.

Enraged kin of the deceased and other villagers blocked the road at Utraon Bazaar and pelted cops with stones. Senior police officials reached the scene and pacified the villagers.

As per reports, the class 5 boy of Balrampur village of Utraon had gone to watch Ramleela and was returning home late on Saturday night when two persons of the same village allegedly abducted him. The duo took the boy to a nearby primary school and sodomised him. Family members launched a search for the boy when he did not return home till late in the night.

They found the boy lying unconscious at the primary school. They rushed him to SRN hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Anand Kulkarni said the boy was bleeding when he was admitted to the hospital. An FIR had been registered against Praveen and Shivam of the same village on the complaint of the boy’s father, the police said. Raids were being carried out to nab the duo, Kulkarni added.
