'Executive' mosquito trap sale to cross 5,000: Mosquito Magnet

Insect trap firm Mosquito Magnet is looking to sell close to 5,000 newly-launched 'executive' mosquito traps in 2017-18, with an eye on institutions such as schools, hospitals, hotels and corporate houses.

The company has launched its first carbon dioxide-based biting insect trap for commercial use and a propane-powered mosquito trap for consumer use.


"We have a healthy growth and the company is expecting that the total number of units to be sold will cross 5,000 in 2017-18," Mosquito Magnet promoter Anirudh Khaitan told PTI.

The company is betting on direct sales and those through modern retail to get the product into the market.

"We are targeting institutions such as schools, hospitals and hotels and large corporate houses," Khaitan said, adding that the product affects the breeding of mosquitoes.

Asked about the expected revenue, he said the company is eyeing a of Rs 30 crore from the sales in two years.
