Cites invite to journalists

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) will not attend the citizens’ round table meeting on Namma Metro and integration of public transport.

In a statement on Friday, BMRCL referred to the invitations extended to the media for attending the round table and said that this was the reason they could not attend. “The officers of BMRCL have been strictly instructed not to speak to the media regarding alignment of Cantonment Metro Station. Since the press would also be invited to the said round table discussion, I am directed to inform that it will not be possible for the officers of BMRCL to participate in this meet,” the statement said.

Ironically, a few weeks ago, BMRCL held a press conference to discuss the very same issue. In that meeting, members of the public had not been invited, prompting them to organise this round table.
