Odisha man held with narcotics

Mapusa: Anjuna police, on Saturday, arrested Odisha native Santosh Mandal, a resident of Anjuna, for illegal possession of narcotic substance .
Police said that based on reliable information, they conducted a search of accused when he was proceeding towards Sorranto Vaddo in Anjuna.
Mandal was found to be in possession of 1,330 grams of narcotic substance, suspected to be ganja.
The suspected drug, along with other exhibits were seized under search panchanama after following all mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act.
The accused has been booked under various section of the NDPS Act.
The accused was produced before the court and has been remanded to five-day police custody.
Police sub inspector H Vaigankar is investigating the case.
