LIC signature campaign

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The signature campaign of the All-India Insurance Employees Association was a big hit in Thiruvananthapuram division of the LIC comprising Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts.
The campaign is against the GST imposed on insurance premium and related services. N Ganapathikrishnan, president of LIC Employees Union said 1,41,806 signatures were collected in the Thiruvananthapuram division. 21,95,544 signatures were collected from the southern region comprising Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
Post-GST service tax on insurance premium was upped from 15 percent to 18 percent. The hike in tax is applicable to health insurance premiums and group insurance schemes.
