Indore: The election of new managing committee of Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) for year 2017-19 was held during a meeting of the newly elected 15 members of the executive committee held at AIMP office here on Friday. Alok Dave was elected as president of the premier representative body of micro, small and medium enterprises of the state, while Yogesh Mehta was elected as secretary.
Outgoing president of AIMP and leading industrialist, OP Dhoot informed that senior industrialist Alok Dave has been elected as president, while young industrialist Yogesh Mehta retains the post of honorary secretary. However, for the first time three vice presidents have been elected, including senior vice president, he added.
Following the meeting, Pramod Dafaria has been elevated from vice president to senior vice president, while Prakash Jain and Sunil Vyas have been elected as vice president. Industrialist from Palda Industrial area Harish Nagar and Tarun Vyas have been elected as treasurer and joint secretary of AIMP respectively. The elected executive committee members are-Hemant Mehtani, Tapan Jain, Harish Bhatia, Anil Paliwal, Ruchil Jain, Satish Mittal, Himanshu Shah and Reena Jain.
Just after election of the managing committee members, new office bearers also assumed charge. On this occasion, the new body pledged to work for development of industrial areas and speak up for the problems of units for their solution. Earlier, on September 11, on the last day of withdrawing nominations, surprisingly, 13 candidates had withdrawn their names and paved way for unanimous selection of remaining 15 members. The formal announcement of election of the executive committee was made in the annual general meeting of AIMP, held on September 27 last.
