NTR Vaidya Seva district coordinator Rajesh on Saturday promised to clear the hurdles in rendering timely treatment free cost to the patients suffering from thalassemia.
At a meeting organised by Uttarandhra Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Association here at MVP Colony, he made the promise in response to complaints made by the parents of several thalassemia patients that they were being denied free treatment and medicines by asking them for registration and waiting for five days to avail treatment.

Dr. Rajesh said he would speak to authorities and get the registration done on emergency basis without any waiting time. He also said he would take steps to ensure adequate supply of medicines.
Founder of Maa Aaasaraa Creations Malathi Dechiraju, who adopted several children suffering from thalassemia, said there was a need to create awareness on the problem faced by the parents in getting timely treatment for their children suffering from thalassemia, caused by genetic disorders leading to severe deficiency in production of haemoglobin.
She thanked Visakha East MLA V.R.K. Babu for his initiative to extend treatment of thalassemia patients under NTR Vaidya Seva by convincing the government to issue a GO.
